Workshop 1: A Value-Based Approach to Inclusive Decisions on Surveillance Technology
Speaker: Daniëlle van Gaans-Riteco

This interactive workshop explores the ethical tensions surrounding surveillance technology in dementia care, including safety, privacy, autonomy, and quality of life. Participants will use a newly co-created conversation tool to engage in structured, value-based discussions through role-based case exercises and small-group dialogue.
Attendees will gain practical strategies to support shared decision-making and inclusive conversations among residents, families, and care teams.
Workshop 3: Human Rights-Based Care and Support for Older Persons: Shaping Global Action at a Pivotal Moment in the UN Convention Process

As the United Nations drafts a Convention on the Rights of Older Persons, this interactive workshop brings together global leaders, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to discuss how mental health, dignity, and human rights can be meaningfully embedded in the process.
Through facilitated dialogue and small-group discussion, participants will explore priority issues, opportunities for advocacy, and practical pathways for coordinated global action.
Workshop 4: Crossing Borders: Worldwide Adaptive Implementation of Meeting Centers for People with Dementia and Their Caregivers

This workshop highlights the international implementation of the Meeting Centres Support Programme (MCSP), an evidence-based community model supporting people living with dementia and their caregivers.
Using case examples from multiple countries, participants will explore cultural adaptations, implementation challenges, sustainability strategies, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange.
