Service Delivery Bibliography (PDF)

It is expected that this bibliography is a dynamic process whereby anyone using the website may submit suggestions for inclusion. These will be used by the Service Delivery Task Force to regularly update and expand the bibliography. The criterion for inclusion in the bibliography is:

  • peer-reviewed papers published within the last 10 years

Papers in all languages may be included. However, to facilitate the review process, suggestions in languages other than English should include an English translation of the title and abstract.

This bibliography will be updated on an ongoing basis with suggestions from our readers. If you have a suggestion for an addition to the bibliography, please Contact Us.

Mild Cognitive Impairment (Resources or Bibliography) (PDF)
(Posted December 2007)

To facilitate dissemination of information, IPA is providing this bibliography originally compiled for IPA’s Expert Consensus Conference, January 2005, “MCI in the elderly and populations at risk.”

IPA appreciates the many contributions of the outstanding expert participants to this conference, and gratefully acknowledges the support of our sponsors: Premier -- Novartis Pharma AG and Strategic – Janssen.

Dementia is presently one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. Its incidence has been steadily increasing with the increase in elderly population. Most, if not all patients with Alzheimer’s disease, experience a subtle cognitive decline before reaching the clinical threshold for the diagnosis of clinically probable AD. This transitional period has become known as Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

Through the review of present literature it becomes clear that MCI encompasses subjective cognitive complaints and objective cognitive decline before subjects become demented. New and very important are data on preclinical AD, which can be detected only by neuropathology and research on complaints about cognitive or memory failures.
