IPA Task Force
Service Delivery
Co-Chairs: Kirsten Abelskov (Denmark) and Ajit Shah (United Kingdom)
The goal of service delivery should be to improve the quality of life of the recipients. Service delivery is intimately linked to the social, cultural, economic and political environment of delivery.
The Service Delivery Task Force has coordinated symposia at several IPA regional meetings and at the recent IPA Congress in Chicago (August 2003) to bring to the attention of the delegates at these meetings, information about the state of service delivery in various countries and regions of the world. With regard to Service Delivery IPA aims to define and promote standards of care tailored to the regional and local conditions.
To facilitate this goal a bibliography has been developed by the IPA Service Delivery Task Force and enhanced by IPA Board members, the IPA-Online Editorial Board, and literature searches on the web. Intended to promote awareness of important literature, the Service Delivery Bibliography lists articles relevant to the historical development, planning, and delivery of psychogeriatric services.
To easily navigate the bibliography's topics, you can click on the bookmarks tab on the left side of the bibliography once you have opened the file using the link shown below.
Service Delivery Bibliography (PDF)
Originally, the Service Delivery Bibliography contained articles written in English. IPA is expanding the bibliography’s international scope with references for relevant articles written in a variety of languages. The categories in the bibliography are: Architecture, Care, Carers and Relatives, Economics, Historical Development of Services, Legal Issues, Medication, and Structure.
It is expected that this bibliography will be a dynamic process whereby anyone using the website may submit suggestions for inclusion. These will be used by the Task Force to regularly update and expand the bibliography. The criterion for inclusion in the bibliography is:
- peer-reviewed papers published within the last 10 years
Papers in all languages may be included. However, to facilitate the review process, suggestions in languages other than English should include an English translation of the title and abstract.
This bibliography will be updated on an ongoing basis with suggestions from our readers. If you have a suggestion for an addition to the bibliography, please Contact Us.
