Meetings & Education

About

Meetings and Education are key to the IPA mission. IPA provides a variety of innovative educational programs designed to meet the myriad of needs of its varied membership while transcending differences in culture, language, and politics.

IPA’s meetings are recognized as outstanding scientific programs and collegial networking opportunities.  They facilitate the exchange of information between scientists, clinicians, academicians, and other opinion leaders who are committed to improving geriatric mental health around the world.  IPA conducts the following meetings on an ongoing basis (for specific dates and locations, please visit the IPA Website for updates):

  • International Congress (held in odd-numbered years)
  • International Meetings
  • Expert Conferences

IPA educational sessions range from introductory to more advanced topics in Psychogeriatrics, here is a small sample of the topics IPA has addressed through its meetings and education:  Migration and Aging, Suicide in Late Life, Service Delivery, Diagnosis and Assessment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), Outcome Methodologies for Pharmacologic Trials in AD, and others.

IPA also brings education to you online through the IPA Learning Portal. The Learning Portal consists of programs and services on the Internet, CD ROMs and DVDs, as well as other technological advances to provide convenient learning experiences.
