INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOGERIATRICS LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE PANEL (LAP) –
FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF AUTHORS WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH
The editor and editorial panel of International Psychogeriatrics have received numerous requests from authors whose first language is not English for assistance in ensuring that manuscripts to be submitted to
International Psychogeriatrics are written in correct English prior to submission. We have therefore formed a Language Assistance Panel (LAP) which is comprised of volunteers who have offered:
1. To read papers prior to submission and to offer advice on correct English style.
2. To assist with translating papers from a language other than English into English.
3. Both.
How to obtain assistance from members of the LAP
Members of the LAP are listed below, together with their email addresses. The number of occasions each is willing to assist yearly is indicated, together with any languages from which that person can translate into English.
If you wish to obtain help from a member of the LAP:
1. Email a member of the LAP direct, copying your email to ipaj-ed@unimelb.edu.au so that we have a record of how often help is sought from LAP members.
2. After receiving assistance submit your paper in the usual way (see instructions for contributors at the website –
www.journals.cambridge.org)
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF NO PAPER IS SUBMITTED TO INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOGERIATRICS WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF RECEIVING LAP ASSISTANCE, NO FURTHER LAP ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED ON ANY FURTHER OCCASION. THIS IS TO PREVENT THE SERVICE BEING USED BY THOSE WHO PLAN TO SUBMIT TO OTHER JOURNALS. WE HAVE ONLY THE RESOURCES TO HELP AUTHORS SUBMITTING TO
INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOGERIATRICS.
Volunteering to become a member of the LAP
If you are not a member of the LAP and wish to volunteer to assist by becoming a member of the LAP please send an email to
ipaj-ed@unimelb.edu.au indicating your name, contact details, whether you are happy to advise regarding English style for papers written in English and whether you are able and willing to translate from another language into English (please specify the language).
Finally, please indicate how many times per year you would be willing to assist in this way
