AIR TRAVEL

The main international airport for connection to Rotorua is Auckland. Auckland has a modern international airport, which is served by direct flights from around the world. Rotorua is a short 45 minute flight or three hour drive from Auckland. There are also connections from Wellington and Christchurch International Airports with a number of daily flights to Rotorua from these centres. Connections with trans-Tasman flights are limited so early booking is advised. The Auckland to Rotorua return airfare is between NZ$172-NZ$350. 

Information about routes and fares can be found on the Air New Zealand website www.airnewzealand.co.nz. Rotorua airport is a 15 minute drive from the city centre. 

Note that there are also trans-Tasman flights into Hamilton Airport which is a 1.5 hour drive from Rotorua. 

SELF-DRIVE

Rental cars can be hired from Auckland International (and other) airports. Rotorua is a three hour drive from Auckland. Standard prices average about NZ$90 per day. 

Avis Rent A Car offers corporate rental car rates exclusively to conference delegates. Just call the local Avis office in your country and quote the booking reference number: AWD Z994400.

COACH AND SHUTTLE SERVICES

There are regular scheduled public coach services operating between Rotorua and other main centres as well as “on-demand” shuttle services. Costs vary from NZ$40 to NZ$70 one-way (Auckland – Rotorua).

It is recommended that you pre-book your transfer from Auckland to Rotorua. The following shuttle/coach operators provide services between Auckland/Hamilton and Rotorua.

Details of the requirements for entry for foreign nationals can also be obtained from New Zealand diplomatic and consular offices or NZIS offices in New Zealand using the website above. 

You may be denied entry to New Zealand on arrival if you do not comply with the requirements. If this should happen, the Organising Committee cannot assist you in any way.
