GENERAL
INFORMATION
Submissions are welcome from all health care
professionals and scientists interested in the field of geriatric neuropsychiatry
(Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Geriatricians, General and Family Practitioners,
Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists,
Occupational Therapists, etc). -
Those
wishing to
have abstracts considered for poster or oral presentations must submit an
abstract to arrive no later than 8th September 2000.Most contributions, if accepted, will be for poster
presentations.However, limited
space for oral presentations is available. The Scientific Committee will select
the papers to be presented, the form of presentation and will determine times
within the scientific program to best serve the meeting. -
All presentations must be submitted in English.However, a version in a second language (either Portuguese or Spanish) is
invited for inclusionin the abstract book. -
All submissions must be received electronically via
an attached email file, by the deadline of 8 September 2000. -
Each presenter may submit up to 4 abstracts -
Accepted presenters must be registered for the
meeting no later than 30 September.Without registration the presentation will be cancelled and
not included in the Abstract Book. -
All who submit abstracts will be notified by email
(to the email address provided), as soon as possible, regarding results of their
application. -
A/V equipment will NOT be provided for poster
presentations. -
Each poster presenter is responsible for mounting the
poster in the place determined by the Scientific Committee
and removing it at the end of the session. Posters will be exhibited during the
day stipulated in the scientific program of the meeting. -
If none of the authors attend the meeting, the
presentation will be cancelled and no certificate will be issued.
ABSTRACT
FORMAT
The submission of the papers in the following noted format will enable
the publication to be prepared in time for the meeting.Should the abstracts be received in a format other than specified, we
regret that we will be unable to accept the submission.Abstracts will be produced exactly as submitted.(Any mistakes in the abstracts will be the complete responsibility of the
authors.)
The abstract must be submitted in the following format:
TITLE:Up
to three lines, it must be in capital letters and in bold.(Please do not write the word “title” at the beginning of this
paragraph.) -
AUTHORS’ NAMES:The authors’ names begin with the principal author’s family name
followed by their initials or given name.Thereafter,
the same format for other authors names.The
names of the authors should be separated by commas.The presenting author’s name MUST be underlined.This section may be no more than three (3) lines.(Please do not write “authors name” at the beginning of this
paragraph.)

AFFILIATION(S):Identify the name of the place or institution of the principal author.(Please do not leave a blank line between the authors’ names and
affiliations.)

TEXT: Leave two blank lines between Affiliations and
the text.It is not necessary
to incorporate any special layout.Input
your text continuously.Any words
or phrases you wish to emphasize should be indicated in italics, script or by
underlining.Use of standard
abbreviations is desirable.Place
special, unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word, the first
time it appears.This section
should include the following.The
subtitles must be typed in italics:
a)
Objective:An introductory sentence indicating the objective and purpose of the
study.
b)Design:A briefly worded description of the study design.
c)Materials
and Methods:A
description of experimental procedures including applicable statistical
evaluation.
d)Results:A summary of the new, previously unpublished data.
e)Conclusion:
A statement of the study’s conclusion.
KEY WORDS: Choose three in English. If you have
submitted the paper in a second language, please also choose three words either
in Portuguese or Spanish. Please choose the key words that best characterize the
paper. -
SUB-AREAS: Please indicate the name of one or two
sub-areas of knowledge in which you wish the work to be included, according to
the following options: Epidemiology, Clinical Diagnosis, Molecular Biology,
Neuropathology, Neuropsychology, Neuroimage, Non-Pharmacologic Treatment,
Rehabilitation, Neuropsychopharmacology, Ethics, Legal issues, Services, Family,
Carers, Palliative Care and Others (Teaching).
Abstracts must adequately describe the objectives and results so that
the quality,originality,
and completeness of the work can be evaluated.
ABSTRACT
SUBMISSION VIA EMAIL ATTACHED FILE
Please submit your typed
text as an email attached file formatted for Windows systems, any version,
ARIAL 11 pt. font, single-spaced, RTF (Rich Text Format).
The abstract may not
exceed 300 words (approximately 2/3 of one page).
You
must include the final text of your abstract within your email. The
abstract must conform to all guidelines in the Abstract Format section.
Each
abstract must be submitted as a separate email.
The
email-attached file (together with the text in the email message) must reach
the Secretariat Office before the specified deadline (8 September 2000).Abstracts received after these dates cannot be included.
