We are delighted that you have agreed to participate in the meeting, ‘The diagnosis and assessment of Alzheimer’s disease in primary care’, to be held at the XXXXX on the XX XX XX at XX:XX.

The meeting

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the practical aspects of diagnosing AD in the primary care setting. In addition it is hoped that, through discussion of the diagnostic process, it will be possible to go some way towards initiating the development of local AD diagnostic guidelines, generated from input at the meeting. The meeting will be attended by general practitioners and AD specialists.

Please see the enclosed preliminary program and participant bulletin, for your information. It is intended that each plenary presentation will be 20 minutes, with questions taken at the end of each presentation. This will be followed by break-out workshop sessions, during which important elements of the diagnostic process will be debated. Following the workshops, the meeting will reconvene to discuss the findings of each group. You will be advised of your workshop group in advance of the meeting.
