PSYCHIATRISTS CONDEMN TERRORIST ATROCITY IN USA
The president of the International Psychogeriatric Association, Professor Edmond Chiu, today called for international mental healthcare organizations to help meet the challenges presented by the evil acts of violence perpetrated in the terrorist attacks in the USA.
On behalf of members and participants currently attending the IPA Congress in Nice he said, “The IPA fundamentally condemns the terror and violence we have all seen. Our organization represents cross-national solidarity and promotes the noble side of human nature and our capacity to care for one another.”
Speaking at the meeting of some 2000 psychiatrists and mental health professionals, Professor Chiu urged all organizations to affirm at this time their missions to support and consolidate international collaboration.
